I believe that the surgery is a little bit different for everyone. I only needed my pain meds for 1 1/2 days and then I needed nothing. I slept one night in the chair but didn't have any problems after that with getting in and out of bed. I had a little gas pain after the surgery but only for a few hours. My husband and I went to the mall and walked around when I left the surgery center after my surgery. The walking really helped to to feel better quicker, I believe. I took a long weekend off when I had my surgery but I easily could have gone back after the 3rd day. Hope this helps with some of your questions.
