Hi Everyone:
As I read the posts I can tell that diet change is HUGE and portion
control along with exercise is critical to weight loss success in the
lap band surgery. My question is this: could a person get the same
results by following Weight Watchers or some other type of diet
plan? What change occurs in the mind when someone has a lap band
versus a regular diet program since both reguire big mental and
physical changes?
I'm in Weight Watchers right now preparing for surgery and I'm
averaging 6 lbs a month. I've had to change my eating amounts,
types, etc., and added very limited (because of knee problems)
exercise. I struggle with cravings and the desire to eat everything
in sight on a regular basis as I start to shrink my stomach. Are
these similar events that a lap bander goes through as well? What
makes the surgery a better option than making the same changes in a
weight reduction program?
Thanks to everyone for their wonderful insightful supportive answers
and especially the genuine honesty. I've learned a great deal from
this group and I appreciate each one of you.
